Little Miss Adelyn turned three on Monday! She had quite the eventful third birthday. She’s been talking about this for an entire month and it finally came! We had her party at Pump It Up, a giant inflatable play palace perfect for kids hopped up on sugar. She had so much fun running around, jumping and climbing for an entire hour and a half straight. Then we had delicious pizza and cake and that was it – no clean up, no hassle, perfectly fun and amazing!

As usual, she received way too many presents and now we’re on Sofia over load. She got so much dress up stuff and refused to wear any clothes underneath, regardless of the fact that it’s literally below freezing outside. Doesn’t bother her one bit though, princesses are obviously immune to weather.

There was no fending her off of all the presents we brought home from her party, so she got to open those early, but we saved a few for her actual birthday. She woke up super grumpy, hence the mean face in the picture below, but Stella the elf brought her another book and a cake pop. She perked right up when I told her she could have it for breakfast. It’s a birthday only thing, I promise. Usually it’s donuts or scones 🙂 After dinner, we opened the rest of her presents and played with the Sofia castle until way too late in the evening. Oh, and we had chocolate cake at 9 pm. Totally acceptable for a Monday, right?!!

Well, it’s officially Christmas season. Our tree is up, the Elf, whom Addie has named Stella, is bringing the kids a book each morning, and we’ve watched the Grinch every night since Thanksgiving! What a magical time of year!! I really intend to blog more than once a month, but somehow the weeks just slip away. We’ve had some fun times recently. We made a visit to EDH to meet the beautiful Haylee Rose and celebrate her mama’s birthday. Addie was pretty obsessed with this new little cousin! She’s so darling…and so tiny!

We had a lovely Thanksgiving at home this year. As usual, I made way too much food but it was nice to spend time with family stuffing our faces. Addie was so excited for dinner all day, but poor thing passed out in her bed right before everything hit the table. She woke up a couple of hours later to enjoy her feast!

And, just in case you want to replicate our meal:

Peanut Butter Honey Yogurt Dip

Fig and Cheese Crostini

Bacon-Wrapped Turkey

Sweet Potatoes

Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Maple Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Sweet Potato Biscuits

Jalapeno Creamed Corn

Orange Cranberry Sauce

Salted Caramel Cake

Pumpkin Cheesecake

Cranberry Punch

After all that celebration, we still had three more days of our weekend to fill! And boy, did we ever fill them! We had our friends over for a little play date Friday afternoon. Three girls sure are quite destructive! Then Saturday, Jimmy and I headed up to Lake Tahoe to celebrate my birthday. We had a lovely room at Mourelatos overlooking the lake and spent about 18 hours doing nothing but eating and sleeping. We had a great dinner at Spindleshanks, but the highlight of the trip was bacon waffles at the Log Cabin Caffe. Oh my goodness…so delicious!

We headed back to town to celebrate Priya’s third birthday. And with just a little time left in our long weekend, we decorated our Christmas tree. After everything was hung, Addie decided it needed just a bit more, so she hung her jump rope on the bottom.

A few minutes after this picture, she said, “it’s not perfect” and walked over to drape the other side. She’s hilarious! So there it is. All caught up and just in time for Addie’s third birthday! Such a busy month behind us and another packed month of fun ahead! ‘Tis the season!!
