Scripps Dinner

I graduated from the Reynolds School of Journalism nearly 8 years ago and Friday night, Jimmy & I attended our first event as an alumni! Just another perk of living in Reno. I must confess, part of the appeal was a free dinner – I am a poor college student again, after all. It was at the Silver Legacy, complete with a cocktail hour, three course meal and lively lecture from Leonard Downie Jr., former editor of The Washington Post. He reported on many amazing moments in history including Watergate, the royal wedding, the Jonestown Massacre and Sept. 11. His stories were unbelievable and so inspiring! I must say, I’m very impressed with the J-School!! It was a great night, good food, engaging speech and good company.

I have about three weeks left of the semester and so much to do! It was nice to have an evening out without thinking about research papers and flash games!

Happy Easter!

I love Easter! Actually, I’m a big sucker for any holiday, but Easter officially kicks off the best season of the year. What’s better than spring weather and flowers in bloom? I just love it!!  And while the weather here is a little chillier than I’m used to, this Easter did not disappoint.

This was only my second Easter away from my family. Can you believe it? Thirty years and only two Easter’s spent away from home!

Thankfully, we have amazing friends here who invited us to share in their day. We had a lovely brunch at Seema & Tim’s cottage – fabulous oven omelets, fresh fruit salad, an amazing pasta dish from Kara, topped off with a delicious chocolate cake…Lesley’s specialty!!

The precious little Olivia made an appearance too, and while the food and company were the best, she completely stole the show! Nothing can compete with this beautiful little one…

I hope you all had an amazing day too! Happy Easter!!
